Who is Dr. Bob?
Robert W. Sears, MD, is a pediatrician, author, and a co-author in the Sears Parenting Library, the classic series of parenting books pioneered by his father, Dr. William Sears. “Dr. Bob” is a father of three, grandfather of two, and author of The Vaccine Book: Making an Educated Decision for Your Child. He earned his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine in 1995 and did his pediatric internship and residency at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. He continues to practice pediatrics at his office in Dana Point, CA, where he provides a combination of natural and traditional medical care. With the new threat of mandatory vaccination laws, Dr. Bob’s new mission is to provide complete and objective information on vaccines and to fight for everyone’s freedom to make healthcare decisions for themselves and their children. To this end, he has created a series of books, videos, and podcasts so that parents the world over can access the truth on this complex and controversial medical intervention.

He has also co-authored six other books on allergies, autism, parenting and children’s health.

This is another companion podcast to Dr. Bob’s second fictional novel. In this ‘cast, the good doctor offers deeper insights into the events that challenged his life and career over the most difficult eight years of his life. He shares what was real in the novel and what was made up, and expands on take-home messages he wants readers to glean from this semi-autobiographical account of his battle with the medical board. What type of training did you receive?
Dr. Bob earned his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine in 1995. He then completed his three-year pediatric residency at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
Are you a medical doctor?
Yes. Dr. Bob’s four-year medical school at Georgetown earned him his MD degree.
Was your medical license revoked and/or restricted in California in 2018?
No. The medical board of california put Dr. Bob’s license on probation, without restrictions, for the vaccine-related advice he gave (and still gives) his patients. He continued to practice during that five-year period which ended in June 2023.
Do you provide vaccines at your office?
Yes. Although most patients at our office choose to raise their children without vaccines, Dr. Bob provides vaccines to patients who want them or who must get them to attend school.
